Oh Emily! I am so sorry that your party ended up being a bust! I was looking forward to hearing all about it… You had inspired me to think about doing something similar. I’m also a HUGE fan of Mad Men, and my only challenge is that none of my friends like Mad Men.

If we knew each other in life rather than in blog, and you had invited me, you can bet your bottom dollar that there is nothing that would have kept me from putting in my pin curls and dressing to the nines and joining you at your party.

I second Patti’s question… Did you get a picture of yourself in the dress?

PS: You’re not the only one who had a bust party recently. I had scheduled one for 3 weeks ago, then had to reschedule twice (the first time because it coincided with the local Santa Claus parade, the second time because half of my kids were sick… only to reschedule it unwittingly to coincide with the double tree lighting ceremonies in town… D’oh!) I really should have listened to my gut feelings too!

How did you manage not to scream and throw the mash at her? Urgh, being a grown up is so not fun.
I have absolutely no idea (well, you might give the above a try, it might help temporarily) how to resolve the situation. I am not sure I could do what you are doing.
